Ben learned of Bitcoin in 2009 while studying economics at the Kelley School of Business when he chose to purchase $100 of beer instead of 136.98 BTC from a college classmate. Since then Ben has been passionately studying cryptocurrencies and is a strong believer in decentralization and blockchain technology. Despite pleas from friends, family, and advisors Ben quit his job as a developer a few months after Ethereum launched in 2015 to start Island Computer, a cryptocurrency mining hardware and service company based in Hong Kong.
