Ben learned of Bitcoin in 2009 while studying economics at the Kelley School of Business when he chose to purchase $100 of beer instead of 136.98 BTC from a college classmate. Since then Ben has been passionately studying cryptocurrencies and is a strong believer in decentralization and blockchain technology. Despite pleas from friends, family, and advisors Ben quit his job as a developer a few months after Ethereum launched in 2015 to start Island Computer, a cryptocurrency mining hardware and service company based in Hong Kong. They now provide crypto mining services and consult on new crypto mining facilities around the world. Ben can often be found hiking the waterfalls on Lantau Island and still enjoys the occasional beer.
